Keala Settle performs 'This Is Me' on The Graham Norton Show
It’s safe to say that The Greatest Showman has become a worldwide phenomenon. Whilst it received mixed reviews from critics, The Greatest Showman has defied the odds thanks to moviegoers across the globe falling in love with the film.
Starring the likes of Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Zendaya, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Ferguson and Keala Settle, The Greatest Showman has captured the hearts of so many thanks to its uplifting and inspiring messages. Not only does the movie encourage you to follow your dreams, but it also champions diversity and promotes acceptance.
The movie soundtrack plays a huge part in spreading this positivity and one of the songs which has had the most impact is the empowering ‘This Is Me’. Performed by the magnificent Keala Settle, the track is an anthem which encourages us to unapologetically celebrate ourselves, flaws and all.
When the sharpest words wanna cut me down
I’m gonna send a flood, gonna drown them out
I am brave, I am bruised, I am who I’m meant to be, this is me
Look out ’cause here I come
And I’m marching on to the beat I drum
I’m not scared to be seen, I make no apologies, this is me
Currently sitting pretty at number six on the UK singles charts, Keala recently made a trip to London to perform the Golden Globe winning ‘This Is Me’ on The Graham Norton Show. Her show-stopping performance was aired on Friday night (February 9), and we’ve still got goosebumps from it.
Joined by a choir, Keala delivered an incredibly rousing performance of the anthem. Whilst she was surrounded by dancers during the latter half of the song, she remained the star of the show thanks to her powerhouse vocals.
After her performance, Keala also joined Graham and his guests on the sofa for a quick chat. She briefly spoke about her upcoming performance at the Oscars and how she got the role of the bearded lady Lettie Lutz in The Greatest Showman.
Whilst ‘This Is Me’ is currently storming the charts, The Greatest Showman soundtrack in its entirety is also holding its own. Currently spending its fifth week at number one on the album chart, it has denied the likes of Camila Cabello, Craig David and Justin Timberlake the opportunity to claim the top spot.
