Weekly Discussion: Do Women Prefer Being Beautiful to Being Brainy?

By now you should know that my friends and I have some of the most outrageous discussions on almost all subject matters. This is one of our most recent arguments and I have decided to bring it to our GhanaCelebrities.Com readers to break down.

Although not the main subject for our night out, this happened to just take over the entire night as we couldn’t arrive at a solution. We have this friend, who is exceedingly intelligent, so much so that she went to Harvard on scholarship. So we taught she would be the luckiest with men since lately, most men are looking for serious minded women.

And she isn’t exactly plain looking. She is a dark, tall, pleasant-faced woman. But just as she was secure in her relationship, turns out her man was seriously cheating on her with other women who he considered much prettier.  However, we have another friend who is exceptionally dumb on any day but she is extremely pretty and recently got married to a politician.

So one of my friends decides that she would prefer being pretty to being brainy any day. LoL. Because when push comes to shove, most men go for beauty instead of brains…We used many figures as examples:  Presidents, Ball players, Heavy Weight musicians, Successful Entrepreneurs and more. Have always chosen the looks of a woman before anything else.

So since men all around the world have consistently proven that Beauty is key, more and more women who are smart still end up being jealous of the Beautiful women who are not so bright. Because ultimately, men are governed by their sight so they are more inclined towards beauty than what is in the mind of a woman.

The most ironic part of the situation is that most smart women, although they can pay their own bills, would still yearn for a man who is up there and pulls his weight. But unfortunately, even if you are a pretty brainy woman, most achieving men would want you to put a stop to your goals and build a life around him.

So what should the general consensus be? I know there are women who are smart and still very pretty but for this discussion, let’s stick to the two extremes of being either very pretty or very smart…Which would you choose to be as a woman and which would you choose to go with as a man?
