He was the most youthful person to ever become a minister in the country.

Early Life

Dr. Harry F. Moniba, Liberia’s former Vice President, served in that position from 1984 to 1990. Clarence Moniba is his youngest son. 

He was born on the 15th day of March in 1979 and was raised in Liberia. His father was a politician, and as a result, he gained an interest in politics. 

Clarence Moniba proved the naysayers (that felt he gained fame through his father’s connection) wrong by doing extremely well in office when he served. 

Education

Clarence Moniba received his Ph.D. from New Mexico State University, where he studied Rhetoric and Professional Communications. 

Intercultural and international communication were his main interests. His master’s degree in International Relations was achieved. “Ethnic Exclusion in Government – A Case Study of the Republic of Liberia,” his thesis is titled.

Clarence Moniba graduated from Harvard University‘s John F. Kennedy School of Government with a master’s degree in public administration.

Career

Clarence Moniba played the lead role in the film Radio, in which he produced the game-winning diving touchdown run for the fictional T.L. Hanna High School. He also had a lead football stunt role in the film Invincible, which also faced off against Mark Wahlberg‘s character Vince Papale, and he starred in multiple football action scenes in the film We Are Marshall.

Clarence Moniba penned The Official Guidebook to a College Football Scholarship, which was released in 2011 and was distributed across the United States.

From 1999 to 2001, Clarence Moniba was a member of the New Mexico State University football team. He played professional football with the Carolina and New York organizations in the Arena Football League for four years.

Clarence Moniba has previously worked with the African Development Bank’s High-Level Panel on Post-Conflict and Fragile States, as well as the UN Post-2015 Development Agenda. He received the national medal Knight Commander of the Most Venerable Order of Pioneers, which was given to him by former president of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, for “exceptional and meritorious service in government.”

Clarence Moniba played professional American football in the Arena League from 2001 to 2004 before joining the Liberian government. 

He was the youngest Minister of State without a Portfolio in Liberia’s history and Chairman of the Liberia Electricity Corporation’s Board of Directors. 

From 2014 to 2018, he served as the President of Liberia’s Principal Advisor and Project Manager and a key player in the country’s infrastructure development. 

Clarence Moniba has also served as the head of the Diaspora Engagement Unit, the Philanthropy Secretariat, and the President’s Delivery Unit, which oversees planning.
