Ashley Tisdale and Christopher French welcomed daughter Jupiter Iris
We were just guessing when Ashley Tisdale was due and guess what, it really was ‘any day now’. Ashley and her husband Christopher French welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Jupiter Iris French, on Tuesday. Ashely posted the happy news to Instagram yesterday with the photo above of adult hands and little baby fingers. Her caption read, “Jupiter Iris French arrived earthside 3.22.21”.
Ashley Tisdale’s bundle of joy has arrived!
The High School Musical alum, 35, and husband Christopher French, 39, welcomed their first baby together, daughter Jupiter Iris French, on Tuesday, March 23, she announced on Instagram Wednesday. The couple tied the knot in 2014.
Tisdale shared a black-and-white photo holding her newborn’s hand, writing that Jupiter has “arrived earth side.”
Tisdale revealed her happy pregnancy news back in September, and later shared the sex of the baby on the way a month later. “I cried I was so happy,” she wrote on Instagram at the time of finding out she would soon have a daughter.
Oof! I love baby appendages. I don’t know why that is. I can usually keep it together when I’m around babies but then I catch sight of their hands or feet, and I start cooing like a crazy person. Anyway, the important thing is that Jupiter is here, and it sounds like everyone is healthy. The name is interesting. I don’t enough about Ashley to know if this sounds like a name she would pick or not. Had her costar Vanessa Hudgens named her daughter Jupiter Iris, I wouldn’t have blinked. I’m sure Ashley will be asked why she chose the name so we’ll hear where it came from soon enough. Jupiter and Iris are both beautiful words on their own. And Jupiter carries a lot of power, both being the largest planet and the most powerful of the Roman gods. When I hear the word Iris, the first image my mind forms is always of Vincent van Gogh’s paintings so for me, the name is a nice balance of power and beauty. But Jupiter is a mouthful when used regularly. I wonder if they’ve already come up with some nicknames. Jupe? I had an extra minute, so I ran Jupiter through Google translate and in many languages, it translates to a variation of Jupiter (although in Italian it’s Giove). But the Latin word for Jupiter is Lovi – that would be a darling nickname.
We’re thrilled that Jupiter has arrived and that everyone is doing well. I can’t wait to hear about Ashley’s journey as a mom, should she choose to share it. She’s brought to light some lesser discussed topics during her pregnancy that I found quite interesting. Of course her priority right now is her daughter and herself, as it should be. Congratulations to the Tisdale French family (including their pups Ziggy Stardust and Sushi Sue)!
